Solar Sisters Black-eyed Susan is a long-season native herbaceous perennial with an upright mounding habit and dark green narrow foliage. Heavy blooms of large sunny yellow double flowers that deepens to copper hues as it matures last all summer into fall. Flowers best in full sun and consistent moisture. Drought tolerant once established. Deadheading will prolong the bloom time.
Rudbeckia hirta is a host plant for the Silvery Checkerspot, Gorgone Checkerspot, Bordered Patch butterfly. The nectar attracts various bees and butterflies.
