Sweet Fragrance, Bold Color — Grape Lollipop Phlox

Step into the garden and let the fragrance find you first. Grape Lollipop Phlox (Phlox paniculata 'Ditomsur' PP21,109) is a compact, upright native perennial that puts on a spectacular show from midsummer into fall. Dense clusters of richly fragrant purple flowers, each ringed with a crisp white halo, rise above deep green lance-shaped foliage on sturdy, self-supporting stems. Butterflies flock to it, and unlike many phlox, Grape Lollipop is powdery mildew resistant — making it as reliable as it is beautiful.

Care & Maintenance

Medium maintenance. Water at the base — avoid overhead watering and overcrowding to keep mildew at bay. Cut stems to the ground and clean up the garden bed in winter to prevent mildew the following season. Deadhead spent blooms to extend flowering, and stake taller stems if needed. Watch for spider mites in hot, dry conditions.

Landscape Uses

Perfect for accents or mass plantings in borders, naturalized areas, rock gardens, wildlife gardens, native gardens, and containers. A standout in cottage-style and pollinator gardens.
